Year 6 - Lawns Class

Our Class Story

Legacy: making our mark.

Named after The Lawns, home of John ‘Iron-Mad’ Wilkinson himself. Our oldest children complete their journey here, exploring his story and preparing to leave their own mark on the world.

Welcome to our class!

Welcome to Lawns Class! My name is Mr Combe, and I am joined by Mrs Lowe and Mrs Crook. I have been a teaching for 9 years with experience in both secondary school and Key Stage 2. I enjoy helping children grow in confidence, develop new skills, and discover a love of learning. Outside of school, I  enjoy spending time with my family and making the most of adventures. In my spare time, I have lots of hobbies. I love travelling and exploring new places – especially on my motorbike! I also have two pet guinea pigs who keep me entertained! I play and coach rugby, enjoy gardening, and like working on woodwork projects and mechanics whenever I get the chance.

Our Week at a Glance

  • PE: Tuesday and Thursday
  • Reading books changed: As and when the children have completed them.
  • Spellings: Weekly
  • Homework: Please note, the children may have additional work, tailored to them over the course of the academic year. This could be SAT style questions, or work tailored to areas of focus.
