  • Starbooks in Sapphire Class

    This morning, sapphire class had their very own Starbooks café! We had hot chocolate and read mystery books from our Starbooks bags!
    It was great to see the children embracing new books and trying new styles and authors!
    I told them when they get older and life is hectic, they will love the opportunity to sit in a cosy café with a good book – they felt very grown up then!

  • Dancing in Nursery

    Children were interested in ballet dancing this week. We talked about what that looks like and then researched on the computer. Children then independently found some dancing dressing-up clothes and started copying the moves - fantastic!

  • Mental Health in Emerald Class

    This week is Children’s Mental Health week. In Emerald, we have talked about strategies to make us feel calm and happy with one being mindful colouring.

  • Mark Making in Nursery

    Children have been busy using lots of different ways to make marks, practising their fine motor skills. This afternoon they listened carefully to ‘The Gruffalo’s Child’ and then retold the story by drawing pictures of the sequence. Lots of fantastic language was used in retelling the story and children gave real meaning to their marks.

  • Signs of Spring in Forest School

    At Forest School this week we have been looking for signs of spring. Children noticed some daffodils popping through the ground and some buds appearing on the trees. Of course, it wouldn't be Forest School if they didn't play in the mud!

  • Fire Safety for Year 3

    This week year 3 had a health and safety session with the fire department. They learnt what to do if there was a fire in the home and about how to keep themselves safe!

    The Peridot Class enjoyed learning how to programme the Beebots. They made them move to different points on the Beebot mat. The Year One children then made their own Beebot mats.

    Emerald class were tasked with creating a poster about the school value ‘respect’ which will go onto our class display board in the hall.
