Outdoor Learning
The weather is starting to get colder, but the children have wrapped up warm to enjoy another week of outdoor learning.
When children are healthy, happy and safe, curiosity is ignited and learning is optimised. In this section, you will find out what children in school and nursery have been learning this week.

This week in Nursery, children have been learning about the meaning of Christmas. They have been thinking about Christmas traditions and how they compare to other festivals we may celebrate. They particularly enjoyed helping to put up the Christmas decorations, and are excited to see what Elf gets up to when we are not here!!
This week Year 1 had a DT day. We created cars using cardboard, wooden dowelling and wooden wheels. First, we designed our cars in groups and labelled important aspects on our plans such as the axle, wheels and the roof. Then we created our cars by working co-operatively. Well done Year 1!
Over the last two weeks, the Reception class have been learning about Diwali, the 'festival of lights'. We listened to the story of Rama and Sita and made Diva lamps to guide them home after their long journey. We also made Diwali cards and created pictures using some Rangoli patterns.
Year 5 have been learning about Earth and space in science. They made models to show how the Earth orbits the sun and the moon orbits the Earth.
Thank you Year Four for your respectful contribution to the Remembrance Day service in the Memorial Gardens on Sunday 14th November.
You made us proud.
