  • Outdoor Learning

    We have had a chilly few days but that hasn't stopped the outdoor fun.

    Reception class have been busy building shelters for the wildlife using twigs and dried leaves collected from around school, Year 1 went down to the wooded area where it was a little warmer and sheltered, and year 2 took a close up look at the ice crystals and patterns left after a frosty night.

  • The Queen's Green Canopy

    The Queen's Green Canopy is a tree planting initiative created to Mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee this year.

    The children in Year 5 have been taking part in the jubilee celebration by planting a variety of trees and hedgerow shrubs in the school grounds, during outdoor learning. These will also, in time, become valuable to the wildlife that will visit the school in the future.

  • Line Drawing

    Year 4 have been working on their sketching skills to produce line drawings of animals. They showed great concentration to produce some fantastic sketches.

  • A Windy Day in Year 1!

    Year 1 had their windy day experience this week to help them come up with onomatopoeia words for their English, related to the book 'The Queen's Hat'. They had lots of fun using hair dryers and fans to blow off their hats!

  • Sketching Lessons

    Year 3 have been learning how to use different media to create light and shade when sketching Ammonites. They made very careful observations to add detail.

  • No Bot the Robot

    The reception class have been reading the story of 'No Bot the robot'. For homework, the children have created their own wonderful robots.

  • Anglo-Saxon Weaving

    In Year 4 we have been weaving loom designs in the style of the Anglo-Saxons who we have been studying through this Autumn term. The children have loved learning this new skill and making their own designs!

  • New Hockey Skills

    Published 09/12/21

    Year 2 have started to learn how to play hockey. We learned how to hold the stick and dribble the ball. Then we played a fun game called Dragon's Nest where we had to work as a team to collect eggs from the nest and then dribble them back again. We are really looking forward to teaching our friends how to play!

  • Nursery News

    This week in Nursery, children have been practising our Christmas performance.  They have been working very hard on remembering their words and singing songs loudly!  We can’t show any photos because we don’t want to spoil the surprise!  However, Buddy, our cheeky elf, has been getting up to mischief including getting involved in our play.

    In the Reception class this week, we have book reading the story of ‘Mrs Armitage on wheels’. We used construction kits to make a new vehicle for Mrs Armitage. They were very creative!

    Year 3 have been learning about the planets in our solar system and how far they are from the sun. We used toilet roll to measure out the distance each planet was from the sun - we were amazed!
