It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
Year 6 have had a wonderful time making their classroom look festive. They used paper that was no longer being used so it could be recycled.
When children are healthy, happy and safe, curiosity is ignited and learning is optimised. In this section, you will find out what children in school and nursery have been learning this week.

In year 4 we welcomed our friend, Rashmika, from the Hindu community, into school. She taught us even more about Hinduism and helped us learn what being a Hindu meant. We looked at some different artefacts and even tried our hand at hindu music and dancing.
In Outdoor Learning Year 5 helped to create a collaborative landscape picture using the technique of wet felting. Children enjoyed carefully stretching and pulling coloured wool to add to the picture before using warm soapy water to set the felt in place.
Thank you for everyone who has supported the whole school pantomime trip and the fabulous PTA for paying for the transport as well as heavily subsidising the tickets. We all had a great time and the children were a pleasure to take. Lots of happy memories to share.
The Reception class had great fun during their outdoor learning this week. They used lots of different ingredients to create witches brew! The children enjoyed watching the brew bubble and steam!
In year 4 the children have been exploring division problems. We are learning to know what to do if we cannot make equal groups. We have learnt the word 'remainder'.
The children used concrete manipulatives to show their solving of problems. Their understanding was fantastic!
Year 3 have enjoyed learning different strategies to add two-digit numbers with exchanging. We worked together using practical resources and recorded our learning on whiteboards.

Last Sunday, pupils from Year 4 attended the Broseley Remembrance service and read a special poem all about the significance of the poppy. Well done to all of them and other John Wilkinson pupils who were representing their scouting and sports groups.
The Reception class have been busy learning about measuring this week. We have been using unifix cubes to measure items in the classroom but found that we needed to use larger bricks to measure taller items outside!
The Reception class have been investigating 'Marvellous Machines' and looking at how they work. The children particularly enjoyed hoovering the classroom!
