    Year 1 have travelled back in time to 1666 where we used quills to write our diary entries all about The Great Fire of London! They worked so hard on their writing and can't wait to tea stain their diary's for a greater effect 🤩🚒🔥.

  • Whale Sketches

    This morning Year 4 have become whale experts, based on being introduced to the front cover of our new English book, 'The whale' by Ethan and Vita Murrow.

    We have named and researched facts about different species of whale, and then completed some sketch work around what we think 'The Whale' in the story might look like. Our sketching is stunning!

    This week Year 2 have enjoyed finding out about how materials change. We planned an investigation to find out how we could change solid water (ice) back into a liquid most quickly. We were surprised that the ice cube melted most quickly when we poured more water onto it!

    Year 5 have been thinking about beats and rhythm in our Music lessons this half term. We have been thinking about notation for writing different beats and created our own Samba band using recycled materials which the children kindly brought into school from home. Well made and well played year 5!

    Year 6 have ended their electricity unit by carrying out a variety of investigations with circuits:

    - Does the amount of voltage change the brightness of the bulb?

    - Does the length of wire change the brightness of the bulb?

    - Does the amount of components change the brightness of the bulb?

    In their groups, they evaluated on their findings and implemented them when making their magical wands!

  • Treasure Maps

    This week in maths we have been learning how to describe the position of an object and how to create a set of instructions to direct something.

    We created a treasure map in class and used directional language and arrows to create a set of instructions for our pirate to find the treasure!

    It was lots of fun!
